Mark your calendars! The Don Quijote Scholarship Fund invites you to the 10th Annual Family Fishing Extravaganza & Cookout — a heartwarming family event that brings our community together while helping Porter County students explore the world through education and cultural immersion.

🎉 What to Expect

Bring your friends and family for a memorable day packed with:

• Fishing Derby with prizes for the biggest catch (Perch, Bass, Catfish, Bluegill & Carp!)

• Cookout with Hot Dogs & Chips (water included)

• Obstacle Course & Bounce House

• Special goodie bags for kids from Chef Carlos

• Catch & Cook: You catch it, we clean and cook it (for a small donation)

Whether you’re a serious angler or just want to relax with good company, there’s something for everyone — and no fishing license is needed (event is on private property).

• $20 per adult

• $60 for a family of five (just $5 for each additional child)

This isn’t just another fishing derby — all proceeds benefit the Don Quijote Scholarship Fund, a mission-driven charity that helps local high school students experience Spanish-speaking cultures through educational travel abroad.

The scholarship:

• Is available to Porter County high school students

• Supports language and cultural immersion trips to Spanish-speaking countries

• Covers room, board, tuition, and travel expenses

• Encourages students to share their experiences upon return, including a video and report for the Foundation
